This day shall be dedicated to the mapping of the current state of the art with regard to transgender issues in Europe and looking at good and bad practices from national and local level.

DAY 2 Capacity development training
May 1st Trainer: Patricia Prendiville, Equality Works
09:30 – 18:00 This day will be dedicated to the provision of capacity building training. How to build a strong movement and capitalise on the good work that has already been done.
Themes to be covered:
• Capacity building of the transgender movement – learning from experiences; growth of the movement
• Working with allies – European level NGOs; Social Partners; etc
• Developing a lobbying strategy – Council of Europe; European Commission etc
• Developing the movement’s strategic plan with short-term and long-term objectives
• Working with funders to develop the movement – EU Small Networks fund; other funders
• Identification of allies

DAY 3 Identifying the way forward

This half day shall be dedicated to a reflection on the previous two days, and how to maximise the impact of the transgender activists and LGBTI movement in their advocacy and lobby work for transgender rights.

• Collective brainstorming on how to achieve more and better results
• Development of a wishlist

11:30 – 12:30 Themes to be covered during the 2nd part of the day:
• Prioritising the next steps and development of an action programme
• Linking the wishlist with concrete actions that are doable
