

Trans people are still disproportionally affected by discrimination in all areas of life, for example in education, employment, public transportation or access to goods and services. TGEU works for full equality and explicit protection from discrimination for trans people in all spheres of live.
TGEU works towards comprehensive protections that make it illegal to discriminate against a person because of their gender identity or gender expression.
To this end, we work towards a strong commitment from the European Union and Council of Europe to fight discrimination and work towards equality for all trans people in Europe. Together with trans activists at the national level, we urge governments to adopt laws and measures to explicitly protect trans people against discrimination.
In addition, TGEU works specifically on fighting stigma & backlash and to address the needs of specific trans groups at risk.
