As a European organisation we address ourselves primarily towards the European institutions of the European Union and the Council of Europe. We also work with the United Nations to advance the trans people’s rights in Europe but also globally.
The European Union has (limited) competence in a number of fields. EU law covers trans people currently in employment, access to goods & services as victims of crime and as asylum seekers. However, if it championed trans rights in these 10 key areas, it could considerably contribute to advancing trans people’s human rights and living situtations.
