TGEU is an active member of the global trans community and works in solidarity with trans and gender variant people worldwide.
TGEU seeks to increase trans knowledge and representation at the UN by the following means.
In the framework of the Transrespect versus Transphobia worldwide (TvT) research project, TGEU provides comparative data and analysis regarding significant aspects of the human rights situation of trans and gender variant people. Together with its partners in the Global South and East TGEU carries out research on the experiences with Transrespect and Transphobia of trans and gender variant people, develops international and country-specific advocacy tools, and provides capacity building trainings.
Furthermore TGEU works in partnership with other civil society NGOs engaged in advancing the rights of trans and gender variant persons on the global level.
TGEU also advocates for the protection of the human rights of trans and gender variant people through the usage of the EU external action policies.
