The TGEU Steering Committee is proud to announce that TGEU has been awarded two substantial grants, one from Open Society Foundations and the other from the Government of The Netherlands, securing much-needed support for our operational activities. After two years, the pioneer project “…and others! Argumentation Training for Transgender Inclusion in Europe” ended with the presentation of the activist toolkit in Edinburgh on 10 September. |

TGEU greatly welcomed the world’s 1st International Intersex Organising Forum which took place in Brussels on 3-5 September 2011. The Forum was facilitated and sponsored by ILGA and ILGA-Europe. TGEU looks forward to working with our partners from the intersex movement in future collaboration. ILGA-Europe is holding a one-day training session on litigation in the field of the rights of trans people, in association with Transgender Europe.

TGEU and the Scottish Transgender Alliance (STA) hosted a very successful 2 day Capacity Building Seminar in September. The event brought together enthusiastic and committed activists from across Europe, from Ireland to Turkey. All participants agreed that further events were needed to develop greater capacity and networking opportunities within the European trans* movement. TGEU is very grateful to the participants as well as Open Society Institute, ILGA-Europe, STA and the Scottish Governement for their generous support of this event.
