[English] In two resolutions adopted on December 13, the European Parliament has called once more on Russia and Ukraine to abandon new censorship plans. These draft laws would punish the positive portrayal of LGBT people with both fines and prison sentences.

MOLDOVA
[English] GENDERDOC-M Information Centre received its first Human Rights Award from the United Nations Moldova Country Office on December 10th, annually observed as the Human Rights Day. In their award justification motion, organisers stated that Moldova’s only LGBT rights organisation was awarded for its work on combating discrimination through litigation, advocacy and awareness-raising activities, which especially showcased in 2012.

PLANET EARTH
[English] Between 9-11 December 2012, the second International Intersex Forum took place in Stockholm. This event brought together 37 activists representing 33 intersex organisations and supportive institutions from all continents.

[English] Actress and transgender pioneer April Ashley was given an MBE for services to equality on December 13. Ashley received the honor at an investiture ceremony in Buckingham Palace from the hands of Prince Charles.
