Участвуйте в определении будущего TGEU: присоединяйтесь к нашему оналйн Общему собранию в сентябре

TGEU’s General Assembly (GA) is at the core of our work. It is the guiding voice of TGEU and its highest decision-making body. In times of crisis, those of us living on the margins suffer the most. As our community continues to deal with several threats and emergencies such as wars, economic crises, the ongoing effects of the pandemic, and the rise of the anti-gender movement, membership engagement is needed more than ever.

Join us online for the General Assembly

This year, we will hold the General Assembly online. The event will take place on Saturday 6 September, at 10:00 CET

TGEU’s Board and staff are working hard to organise a successful and community-driven online GA which will include  TGEU’s most important elections including its Board, Co-Chairs and Auditors will take place during the event. Members will have the opportunity to share insights and feedback on TGEU’s organisational budget, policies and new strategy plan. Join us and shape TGEU’s future!

How to register

As we are organising an online General Assembly, we want to ensure that everything runs smoothly to make the most valuable use of our member’s time and efforts. This means this year, we will close registrations seven days ahead of the GA. Please be aware that if you intend to participate in the GA or vote, you must register by 27 August until 12:00 CEST.

Closing registrations in advance allows us to prepare for in-person and virtual participation, ensuring we can accommodate everyone. We appreciate your understanding and support with this new approach. Your involvement is valued, and we’re committed to making this GA more participatory and meaningful, where all of our members’ voices are heard.

What is the General Assembly?

We explain everything you need to know about TGEU’s General Assembly:

Key Video Takeaways

What exactly is the General Assembly (GA)?

The GA is TGEU’s highest decision-making body. It’s where you, our full members, come together every two years to:

  • Set the direction of the organisation
  • Elect leadership
  • Approve strategic plans and budgets
  • Amend rules
  • And most importantly, hold the organisation accountable

How do we choose our leaders?

If you’re a full member, you can nominate yourself or someone else for roles including:

  • The Board (9 members, including Co-Chairs)
  • The Internal Auditors
  • Or the Pre-Election Committee

If you want to nominate someone, send us:

  • A short description of the person and what they bring to the role
  • A statement of support from at least one full member

How do I propose changes?

You can submit a proposal or an amendment to the Statutes (like how we define membership or elections) or to the Standing Orders (like meeting rules or voting procedures). Here’s how:

  1. Write your proposal clearly. What do you want to change, and why?
  2. Send it by email to the Board

You’ll then present your proposal during the GA, and members will vote on whether to adopt it.

How does voting work?

Every full member gets to vote!

  • Individuals have 1 vote
  • Organisations have 6 votes
  • Voting happens securely online during the GA
  • Proxy voting is allowed, just send the authorisation to the Board in writing
