20 years of TGEU campaign: Call for your contributions

We’re planning a new campaign to celebrate the 20th anniversary of TGEU and would like you to be part of it – send us your videos or written text (plus photo)

About the campaign

The first Trans Council in Vienna took place in Vienna in November 2005. This November 2025, we’re celebrating 20 years of international trans rights organising and solidarity with our communities in Europe and Central Asia. 

Over the past two decades, our members, communities, and team—past and present—have made an incredible impact in advancing trans rights and wellbeing. To mark this milestone, we invite you to join our anniversary campaign: share your story, lend your voice, and help show the power of trans solidarity. 

Our anniversary campaign will also include a fundraising component to highlight ways supporters can help sustain TGEU’s work for the next 20 years and beyond. 

Get involved and contribute

Share how TGEU influenced the work in your region and created (cultural, political or legislative) change, a personal story or a memory with TGEU throughout the years (e.g. European and Central Asian Trans Council, Trans Advocacy Week, TGEU training programmes). 

We’re welcoming all contributions in the following formats. Choose whatever is easiest for you: 

Existing video or archive photo from previous events

Quote/short text (optional: alongside a photo of yourself):

• Length: Max 50 words
• Previous example: See this example from a previous campaign to get an idea of the format

Short video:

• Length: No more than 60 seconds
• Format: Portrait (9:16), Selfie mode – filmed on your phone is perfect, just make sure you have good natural light and minimal background noise
• Tone: Empowering, creative and community-oriented 
• Language: Videos can be in English or Russian 
• Previous example: Watch this video from a previous campaign to see how the video should be framed. TGEU will add the graphic elements and subtitles so that all the videos have the same look and feel.
  

How to submit

• The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, 21 October, 18:00 CEST
• Please include the following details with your submission:
  • Full name
  • Pronouns
  • Country you live in
  • Organisation and role (if relevant)
• Please also sign and submit the media release form
• Videos should be sent via WeTransfer
• Photos/Texts should be sent via email to: comms@tgeu.org
