Lenny Emson Appointed Executive Director of TGEU

Lenny Emson assumed the role of Executive Director at TGEU on 1 February 2023, while Acting Co-Directors Anwar Ogrm and Milena Papakoch are remaining with the organisation in a manager capacity.

“We are pleased to announce that we have a new Executive Director starting in February,” comments TGEU Chair, Jovan Džoli Ulićević. “After the TGEU European and Central Asia Trans Council, our Board has been actively involved in the recruitment process of an Executive Director. The Board has approached this process with attention, taking into account many aspects: the candidates’ experience, their contribution to the movement, their capacity to support the sustainability and growth of TGEU, their ability to work in a team, their knowledge of TGEU and the way it functions, especially considering that it is a membership-based organisation, with a diverse team of amazing and experienced activists.”

“It’s a great responsibility and an honour to join the TGEU team and to work for the future of trans communities in Europe and Central Asia. TGEU is a strategically important organisation that strives to improve the situation for trans people in the region, support our communities, and lead the change. It is my passion and priority to help strengthen our communities, empower more trans people, and continue to support the critical development of the trans movement in the region. TGEU is the voice of many, and it must be heard at the highest levels of the major power institutions throughout the region and beyond.”
