New publication: Systemic harm, human cost: TGEU’s report on anti-trans violence in EECA

TGEU’s new report, Systemic harm, human cost, shows the scale and reality  of anti-trans violence in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) at a time when political and social conditions for trans people have deteriorated significantly.

On 11th of December, over 150 organisations published a joint statement to strongly urge the leaders and institutions of the European Union to take actions toward the elimination of conversion practices.

The forthcoming EU Anti-Poverty Strategy must be comprehensive, ambitious, adequately funded, and anchored in meaningful targets towards the eradication of poverty. The Coalition on the EU Anti-Poverty Strategy urges Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to uphold this level of ambition during the plenary vote scheduled for January 2026.

Between 2024 and 2025, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), the EU's highest Court, issued four important judgments on the rights of trans people in the EU. This toolkit empowers trans activists to understand why these rulings matter and helps them use them in their important work.

TGEU is seeking a skilled Consultant to conduct an in-depth study on the rights of trans people in the digital sphere. This will drive TGEU’s programming on digital rights and AI justice. This consultancy will run until 15 March 2026, which is the final date for submitting the materials.

In a pivotal step, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the forthcoming EU Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2030, increasing pressure on the European Commission to strengthen protections for trans people within this framework.

This webinar will delve into the EU’s recent legal measures on gender equality and anti-discrimination, including the 2023 Pay Transparency Directive and the 2024 Directives on equality bodies, and discuss what these frameworks mean for trans communities and how they can be effectively implemented at the national level to combat discrimination and promote inclusion.
