Trans Day of Remembrance 2024 Joint Statement: We honour the lives of our siblings and demand safety amidst growing hate and anti-rights movements 

Each year, on 20 November, trans and gender diverse people (together “trans”) gather as a community to mourn and remember our lost siblings on Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR). 

Cada año, el 20 de noviembre, las personas trans y de género diverso (en conjunto, "trans") nos agrupamos en comunidad para lamentar y recordar a nuestrxs hermanxs que hemos perdido, en el Día de la Memoria Trans (TDoR). 

Todos os anos, a 20 de Novembro, pessoas trans e de género diverso (coletivamente "trans") se reúnem em comunidade para fazer luto e relembrar a vida des nosses parentes perdides no Dia da Memória Trans (DdMT).

Os homicídios de pessoas trans permanecem em níveis alarmantes à medida que pautas transfóbicas se estabelecem mundialmente e posições anti-direitos se espalham. As atuais leis e regulamentações falham em abordar a violência contra pessoas trans.

Los asesinatos de personas trans se mantienen en niveles alarmantes a medida que las agendas transfóbicas se afianzan en todo el mundo y se propagan los sentimientos anti-derechos. Las leyes y políticas actuales no abordan la violencia contra las personas trans.

Ahead of TDoR, we are releasing the annual update of our global Trans Murder Monitoring project. 350 trans and gender diverse people were reported murdered in the last year.

TGEU’s General Assembly (GA) is at the core of our work. This year, for the first time we will hold a hybrid General Assembly with the option of participating online for our members who can not attend in person. The event will take place on Saturday 23 November, 14:30-18:00 CET, during the TGEU European and Central Asian Trans Council, in Malta.
