TGEU’s General Assembly (GA) is at the core of our work. This year, for the first time we will hold a hybrid General Assembly with the option of participating online for our members who can not attend in person. The event will take place on Saturday 23 November, 14:30-18:00 CET, during the TGEU European and Central Asian Trans Council, in Malta.

We're thrilled to announce that we've chosen three exceptional member organisations for the EU Subgranting Cycle 2024, each receiving €30,000 in funding. These projects, made possible by the European Commission's Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV), aim to drive meaningful change in the lives of trans people across Europe. Selected to receive the funding, Trans Autonomija, FLIRT and Trans Mreža Balkan are making strides towards a more inclusive future.

ACCEPT, TGEU and ILGA-Europe welcome today’s decision of the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU)  in case C-4/23 Mirin, strengthening the rights of trans people. The Court said that the refusal of an EU Member State to recognise changes of forename and gender acquired in another Member State is contrary to the rights of EU citizens.

In light of the recent unveiling of the new European Commission, European and national equality civil society networks and organisations wish to express their shock and dismay over the downgrading of the Equality portfolio compared to the previous mandate.

The Parliament of Georgia voted in the third and final reading for laws aimed against LGBTI people by restricting their rights to non-discrimination, health care and education, freedom of speech and peaceful assembly, and the right to security.

Today, the Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union said that Hungarian immigration authorities must correct a trans person's gender marker in national registries when requested.

The human rights situation in Uzbekistan is getting worse, especially for LGBTI people. There are still laws against "sodomy", human rights initiatives are restricted and the mistreatment and torture of gay, bisexual, and trans people continues without consequences.
